Retirement is more than a financial milestone. It is one of life’s biggest transitions.
Retirement is about more than leaving a job. It is an opportunity to step into a new way of living and being. Based in research on social and psychological adjustments to retirement, we understand the unique challenges that are often encountered, and how to navigate them. Our programs and resources get at the heart of the personal, lifestyle changes retirees face and support a smooth transition to a fulfilling retirement. Whether you are retiring yourself, or working with others in the transition, we have resources to support you with the non-financial side of retirement.

Design a Retirement You’ll Love
Retirement opens a door to a new way of living, but thriving in retirement takes more than a financial plan. Whether you are years away, stepping into it now, or already retired, we have resources to help you navigate the personal side of this transition.
Why our approach is different
Most retirement planning focuses on money. We focus on the rest of it: the identity, the relationships, the sense of purpose that work once provided. Our programs are also grounded in reviews of research on retirement adjustment and wellbeing, giving coaches, financial planners, and individuals a framework that goes to the heart of what people actually struggle with in this transition. We do not assume to know what retirees are facing, nor that retirement looks the same for everyone. We dig into the lived experiences of retirees in order to design programs that provide more depth and breadth to retirement planning.
Pauline Johnson-Zielonka, PhD, developed the Retirement Life Plan programs after years of research into what separates a fulfilling retirement from a difficult one.
“Retirement Life Plan immediately made sense to me... Pauline really understands that the issue for people facing retirement is not just the practicalities of everyday life, it is primarily the transition from career to the next phase of life.”
